Paper coverage & eligibility

Per named attendee, per registration.

The registrant must be an author of each paper covered. When one registration covers two papers, the registrant must be an author of both.

Student and complimentary registrations cannot cover any Main, Findings, Short, Workshop, Demo or DC paper. Papers without a valid accompanying registration risk being excluded from the proceedings.

Main/Findings author deadline: December 17, 2026, inclusive (AoE). An eligible 3-Day or 5-Day Member / Non-member registration is required.
Two papers on different 1-Day dates: if one is scheduled on February 15 and the other on February 19, 1-Day attendees must purchase two registrations: one 1D-Workshops and one 1D-Tutorials. A 5-Day Member / Non-member registration plus the $75 second paper fee also covers this combination.

Registration policies

Payment & confirmation

Registration is complete only after successful payment. The registration system will send a confirmation email.

WSDM 2027 is an in-person conference. Remote participation is not available.

Presenting your paper

Oral papers: an author must present in person. Otherwise, the paper may be reassigned to a poster following advance email consultation and confirmation.

Poster papers: authors are strongly encouraged to present in person. If exceptional circumstances prevent attendance, an author must still complete an eligible registration and arrange for another registered attendee to present the poster.

Member & student rates

Member: you must be a current ACM Professional Member and provide evidence of membership during registration.

Student: you must be enrolled full-time at an accredited educational institution and provide evidence during registration. Student registrations include the Welcome Reception and Banquet but cannot cover papers; students registering to cover a paper must choose an eligible non-student category.

Cancellations & transfers

No refunds are allowed, and registrations cannot be canceled. The only permitted exception is a transfer of the registration to another person in the event of visa denial.
