SIGWEB Fair Access Grant

SIGWEB is committed to promoting fair access to its conferences and to achieve this goal, SIGWEB is increasing and broadening the student support offered at these events. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers for students as well as early researchers from economically developing countries, thus enabling broader participation in conferences and creating a more inclusive academic community.

Grant amount: The size of the award to an individual may vary depending on various factors such as the number of qualified applicants or the distance travelled. Applicants may submit applications prior to learning whether their papers have been accepted. However, preference will be given to individuals who have an accepted paper and who will be presenting that work themselves.

Eligibility criteria: The grants are open to all MSc and PhD students, as well as to post-doctoral researchers, or non-tenured professionals who are residents in any of the countries listed at  https://services.acm.org/public/qj/proflevel/countryListing.cfm. The grant may be used to support travel to the conference, including flights, accommodation costs, and other costs related to obtaining a VISA.

Application process:  Applications for these awards should include:

  – A completed application form (available here)
  – 1-2 page CV

Please combine the two documents in a single PDF and upload it under the “Paper” field on EasyChair.
